PPM Team complete Macmillan Mighty Hike Marathon Challenge

Two members of our wonderful PPM Head Office team have completed the mammoth Macmillan Mighty Hike Marathon Challenge in the Lake District raising £750 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Beth and Charlotte completed the 26.2 mile walking challenge in just over 10 hours on Saturday 17th September, which is an amazing achievement.  Luckily it was a beautiful day and perfect conditions to undertake the marathon walk.

The girls have been training for the walk since April this year.  They were originally due to complete the Northumberland Coastal Mighty Hike in July, however, COVID struck and they weren't able to take part.  Determined to complete the challenge they set off to do the walk a little closer to home independently, following the Mighty Hike route in the Lake District from Dalemain House to Lowther Castle, taking in the stunning views around Ullswater.  Friends and family were there to support which was brilliant.

To bolster fundraising the girls also held a sweet competition which our lovely business neighbours in Atlantic House, Carlisle, kindly supported.  This, along with generous sponsorship from colleagues, friends and family, helped raise the grand total of £750 for Macmillan Cancer Support which is fantastic!

Donations make up 98% of the charity's annual income to fund their vital services to help people living with cancer.
