Dementia Session - Summer Party

On Tuesday the 4th July Laura and Beth, Our communication and Development Officer's and Charlotte Graham, our new Business Admin Apprentice attended the Laybourn House Tuesday Clubs' Summer Party.

PPM have been sponsoring the fortnightly Dementia sessions at Laybourn House for the past 18 months. The session is ran by Jenn Mattinson, a Freelance Creative Practitioner with Laura and Beth also attending alongside the onsite staff at Laybourn House. The sessions have different themes every fortnight, these have included songs from the past, horse racing, quizzes and arts and crafts to name just a few and are a chance for the residents of Laybourn House and the surrounding community to come together for a cup of tea and a chat.

On Tuesday, we held the Summer party, it was a great day with many of the residents getting involved in a celebration of 'All Things Cumbrian'. The group shared what they loved about living in Cumbria, we had a quiz about the Lake District, danced to music of years gone by and created our own Cumbrian Tups. 

The sessions are due to continue after a Summer break and we look forward to our continued participation and support of the local community.
